The latest virus to hit the headlines is causing much concern, and it is no wonder when the W H O state the following in their release on the virus. Originating from the Dutch cruise ship, MV Hondius. A 4 star accommodation ship that can carry a 170 capacity passenger list in 80 suites and cabins. The ship is an expedition ship built exclusively for Polar cruises.
With 5 decks she has 70 staff and crew.
Wheras the average cruise ship carries 3,000 to 5,000 passengers, and from what I can. gather and my understanding, not from so many Countries, unless of course this is the norm for polar expedition ships. The Countries I have listed below
Hantavirus are a group of viruses carried by rodents. In the Americas they cause a pulmonary form of the illness, cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS). In Europe and Asia they can cause renal failure and kidney failure (HFRS).
Allegedly, Mortality rate 40%. Infected in first 1 to 6 weeks, symptoms are fever, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, muscle aches, 7 weeks plus difficulty breathing, fluid in lungs, recovery or death.
Allegedly, care focuses on clinical monitoring and managing any complications. Outcomes improve significantly with early access to medical care. "The faster people receive treatment the better the prognosis" Sauvage.
The amount of Countries involved I find staggering for such a small ship in comparison to other cruise ships .......and may I say........... unusual.
I have tried to gather stats on previous sailings in this ship and the origin of the passengers Countrys, but have found it to be as hard and difficult as pulling teeth by hand.
There are 34 plus known Countries, possibly more as I have listed Asia as a whole.
UK, USA, Canada, Spain, Norway, France, Japan, Tenerife, Netherlands, Germany, Greece, India, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Ukraine, Guatemala, Phillipines, Montenego, Australia, New Zealand, Countries in Asia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, South America, Chile, Uruguay, Turkey, Singapore, St Helena, Denmark,Russia, Poland.
These many Countries from a passenger list of alleged 88 passengers and
61 crew totalling 149 in total. According to others online.
A few online state by the end of June we should be able to say the outbreak is over.
My only concern is trusting everyone concerned to stay isolated for the weeks required......this is as I see it as the weak link in the chain, as people being people, some get bored and may take a chance to pop out for some fresh air. Humans are human.
Lets all take much care health wise please, this must be a given going forwards for this year, as many things will be popping out of nowhere, especially in a red year, a fire horse year, things come out of nowhere fast and furious, erupt quickly, infect quickly and remember, disperse quickly.
As I have been sharing for a while now, although , please hear me when I say, this is not the crisis I forsaw, but never-the-less as far as I am concerned, I am concerned, not from what Ive shared and from what we know about it thus far, but what can be done with this information and put in place by those with not the best interests at heart

........get my gist?.
