Allergies now affecting high numbers ....

Please note these are my thoughts and opinions, therefore, please do your own research.
There are many questions unanswered around the fact that allergies are increasing at a rate unseen before today, the latest research states that 1 in 3 are now suffering from some sort of allergy. In the animal kingdom, in dogs especially and less so in cats, vets note the same increase in allergies. The big question is, why? Why the concerning increase and why now and what could be the cause.
Are there environmental changes that are causing the rise in allergies, what are the common denominator's, food, environment, air, water, internal or external?
As dogs are increasingly suffering from allergies lets look at what dogs and humans have in common, water, air, environment. Food we can discount in most cases, comparing dogs and human allergies, although food allergies are increasing in children and adults, both humans and dogs have such a varied diet, in some cases far removed from each other. However both have to drink water and breathe air.
In humans, allegedly the medical and complementary arenas appear intent on going down the pollen and gut health road. The health tests out there I believe are limited in there range and costly. Focus seems to be home, environment and what is eaten, dust coupled with pollen, I am asking for a far wider perspective, looking out and beyond the home and local environment to the air we all breathe and the water we all drink. Interestingly the fastest rise appears to be in the Western world, no one can say why this is. This puts a spanner in the works as we all drink water and breathe the air.......... Do other Countries use different methods to sanitise their water for drinking? Are the chemicals used the same?
This brings in the thought, here in the West many use water filters, does this make a difference? if so then why the rapid increase in allergies? So many unanswered questions, but still leaving us with one possible culprit standing, that affects us all, the air we breathe.
Sadly allergies for so many have become part of everyday life.
For food allergies. Parents carrying pens and injections wherever they go with their children, antihistamine sales are at a record high, inhaler usage, again at an all time high, streaming eyes and runny noses with relentless sneezing sadly becomes the norm for so many at certain times of the year. Eating out at restaurants, on planes, trains, grabbing quick bites becomes a nightmare for many, Scrutinising every ingredient before eating. It has become a modern day health challenge. How did we get here?
With air pollution increasing, some blaming chem trails, in my opinion much must rest at the door of the quality of air we are breathing, it makes sense, being the only common denominator. I may be wrong and I am happy to stand corrected if I am, but looking closely at everything else, it appears to me to be the common denominator between animals and humans and allergies.
It may seem there is not much we can do to help ourselves and to help our animals, yet there is much we can do. First strengthen our immune systems, as this is our first line of defence, ensure our immune systems are strong and therefore prepared. Keep well hydrated, and contrary to what may seem opposing, breathe deeply as each organ needs a good blood flow.
There are two circulatory systems in the body, the heart pumping and the lymphatic system cleaning the whole. Both need a hydrated body with a good continual flow of oxygen to work at optimum level.
These 3 actions will help us ensure we are ready to propel negative impurities that may enter our airways and bodies. A strong immune system is our defence system.
With regard to food allergies. The UK has one of the highest rates of food allergies allegedly in the world?>.......Back in early 2023/4 The food standards agency stated 6%, 2.5 million people, of the uk population suffered from a food allergy, allegedly that number has grown substantially, today, with a much larger group suffering from food intolerance, presently standing at 6 million. In 2025 approximately 7%-8% of children in the UK suffered from food allergies according to some research.
The barrier, a strong immune system will most definately help with some allergies, a strong gut with food allergies.
On the Governemnt website. 2025. "there is evidence that air pollution such as ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide can exacerbate respitarory conditions......"
see the Gov Uk website. Air Pollution and Airborne Allergens for further reading.
"Urban residents experience more allergies than people living in rural areas............"
And what do rural areas have far more of than urban areas?............................trees!
Trees are our protectors in many different ways. And, allegedly some believe trees protect from 5 g pollution, I do know that living near to, close to trees fills me with delight and surety there is natural protection close that I can depend upon.
Once read , compare with the reams of research online. My conclusion, building and maintaining a strong immune system will be my first port of call. Natures natural protection in the dear trees is one to remember, and, then, look at gut health.
