Good Morning Britain Colours....

These are my thoughts and opinions, please do your own research.

I rarely if ever watch daytime television, yet yesterday morning I switched onto Good Morning Britain for no other reason than........I did. I had an hour to spare so I switched on. The programme I refer to is Good Morning Britain that airs in the UK on Monday to Friday mornings on the ITV network over here.

I was taken aback and surprised to see the 'new' set colours that have been chosen and the news straps that come across the screen in their new clashing colourways then breaking news in a brown shaded orange came rolling onto the bottom of the screen .. .......I do not want to be rude but I found myself thinking "what on earth........who has chosen these colours? in my opinion some even clash. To my discerning eye not one colour combo is easy on the eye, nothing flows.

Allegedly and I have to be careful for many reasons here, allegedly, I believe the company contracted out to a colour 'professional' seeking their advice on the colours to be used. This is quite normal and industry standard. When 'experts' are used an NDA is signed to ensure and to prevent the contracted person/company from ever talking about it.

My curiosity is such I would like to know who suggested the colours used, unfortunately there are no tell tale signs, give aways of whose work it is even with an NDA inplace, one can sometimes accurately guess. It brings home to me how powerful marketing can be and is. It seems that any mediocre 'professional' can purport to be an expert in their chosen field

as long as they market themselves wonderfully well, get themselves out there with a book or networking with a strong social media presence for the world to believe they know their onions. It is likely they will get paid multiple thousands for a job in my opinion that lacks clarity, flow and colour knowledge and dare I say it, yes it is my opinion and I am still allowed to have an opinion, in my opinion is not fit for purpose.

I do believe a golden oppportunity has been missed . It saddens me when I see such a wonderful opportunity wasted, to see that colour has not been used to its fullest potential and to its fullest capacity. To have the opportunity to create a stunning coloured setting where not only the viewers enjoyment is increased, therefore ratings are increased, coupled with the positive effect the impact of 'right' colours can have that flow, rhyme and sing together rather than clash will have on all who work on set is immeasurable.

A colour palette when used with colour knowledge and careful consideration is truly wonderful as magic can be created, and more so when using coloured lighting. You may think differently and thats fine, we are all allowed to have an opinion, but I ask one thing.....

Please ...... take another and closer look.
